Match Report - 18 Sep 2011, Bracknell Town Ladies FC Bracknell Town 2nds lost to Denham United Ladies
Once again today we were our own worst enemies. We started of ok for the first ten minutes and had most of the play. Then once again we went to sleep and found ourselves 2 - 0 down very quickly. This is happening frequently and we have to get in to the game quickly. We can't let teams get a 2 goal lead before we decide to play. We have to remember we have now gone up a division and silly mistakes can lead to goals being conceded.
We got back in to the game with a great looping shot from Sam Holloway after Sue Bowen hit the post from a well delivered free kick.
At the break we decided to change the formation to 3.5.2 and it paid of after 3 min. A great strike from leading goal scorer Chakira to take the score to 3-2. As we were chasing the game it left us open and the back and saw us concede another soft goal. Chakira popped up again very quickly to make it 4-3. With us chasing the game Ben decided to make some changes Bringing Lis and Michelle Lewis on to bring speed to the game. Once again we were caught sleeping and conceded another goal to bring the score to 5-3. With the referee and linesman making some strange decisions tempers were starting to flare and spectators on the side were getting involved the game went through a messy 5 min with both teams trying to get out on top. Luckily we got hold of the game and after some great build up play we got the ball in to the box for Claire Headly Smith to get us back in to the game from a great strike. Michelle Lewis on her return from injury was making an impact after coming on upfront, after running through into the box she played the ball as the keeper came out and brought her down, penalty for us. Unluckily we were unable to score and then got caught on the break to concede a final goal. Ben again made to changes to bring Nat and Lou making her first league appearance for bracknell town on for the last 10 minutes.
All in all a disapointing game for us, we just have to learn that we need to start the game running pace. Saying that the girls can be proud of themselves for the effort and commitment that they all showed.
Positive point we havent conceded as many goals as Arsenal and we have scored more goals than Arsenal
