TRAINING SESSIONS
Pre-Season Training
Venue: The Elms Recreation Ground, Bracknell
Time: 7.00pm - 9.00pm
Days: Tuesday & Thursday Evenings (begins Thursday 1 July 2010)
Surface: Grass
Directions: The Recreation ground is off the Met Office roundabout, take the exit on the London Road and the park is on the left hand side after the Avis Building.
Winter Training
Venue: Wellington College, Crowthorne
Time: 7.30pm - 9.00pm
Day: Thursday's
(When Bracknell don't have fixtures on Sundays then they have additional training sessions, these sessions do vary in times and venues and players are expected to attend if they are available)
Surface: Astro Turf
Directions: Wellington College is best reached from the M3 at junctions 3 or 4, or the M4 at Junction 10, depending on your direction of travel. It is close to all of these junctions, but there are quite a number of roundabouts to negotiate. Detailed instructions follow.
From M3, heading South
- Leave the M3 at Junction 3 (signposted Woking, Bracknell, Lightwater), then at the roundabout turn right, taking the 3rd exit onto the A322 (signposted Bracknell, Bagshot). Continue towards Bracknell.
- At the roundabout after about 4 miles, you will see a sign for "Coral Reef". Turn left, taking the 1st exit onto Nine Mile Ride - B3430 (signposted Crowthorne, Finchampstead, Arborfield).
- After about 2 miles you will come to a roundabout. Turn left, taking the 1st exit onto the A3095 (signposted Crowthorne, Sandhurst).
- After about 1/3 of a mile, you will come to another roundabout. Turn right, taking the 3rd exit onto Bracknell Road - B3348 (signposted Crowthorne).
- After another mile or so, you will come to a small roundabout. Continue straight over it into Crowthorne (2nd exit), remaining on the B3348.
- Shortly afterwards (300 metres), you will come to a mini-roundabout. Turn half-right onto Dukes Ride (signposted Finchampstead). This will involve passing a pub, "The Prince", on your left, and Lloyds Bank on your right.
- Continue down Dukes Ride over a series of speed bumps until you reach some traffic lights. Continue straight over at these, passing the "Waterloo Hotel" on your left.
- Around 500 metres after this you will see, signed to the left, the entrance to Wellington College.
From M3, heading North
- Leave the M3 at Junction 4 (signposted Camberley), then at the roundabout turn left, taking the 1st exit onto the A331 (signposted Reading A327, Camberley A30).
- Continue on the A331 toward Camberley for about 1.5 miles. You will come to the large Meadows Roundabout.
- At this roundabout go straight across, taking the 3rd exit onto Marshall Road - A321 (signposted Sandhurst, Wokingham). This will take you past a large Tesco / Marks and Spencer complex, on your right, and some meadows on your left.
- After half a mile or so, you will go through traffic lights and come to a small roundabout. Go straight over, take the 2nd exit onto Marshall Road - A321 (signposted A321).
- After another half a mile, you will reach Rackstraw junction. Turn left (signposted Sandhurst), so that "The Rackstraw" pub and hotel is on your right as you drive past it. There is a filter lane for trafic turning left.
- Beware speed cameras! After around 2/3 of a mile, you will encounter a mini-roundabout. Proceed straight over it, and you will pass through a parade of shops on your left and on your right.
- After 200 m, turn right at another mini-roundabout onto Crowthorne Road (signposted Crowthorne).
- Follow this road up the hill for a mile or so. You will encounter two sets of traffic lights.
- As you come into Crowthorne, you will reach a mini-roundabout. If your Satnav tells you to turn left before then, ignore it - you will arrive at a gate which requires a key pass. At the mini-roundabout you will see a newsagent opposite you, and shops . You have just passed the 'Iron Duke' pub. Turn left onto Church Road (which becomes Waterloo Road).
- Continue down this road for around 2/3 of a mile. You will pass a church on your right, and then the Waterloo Hotel on your right.
- At the end of the road, turn half left onto Duke's Ride (the B3348).
- After 500 m, you will reach the entrance to Wellington College, signed on your left.
From the M4 (any direction)
- Leave the M4 at Junction 10, then join the A329(M) motorway (signposted Wokingham, Bracknell).
- After around 3 miles, the road stops being motorway, so continue straight on.
- At the Doncastle roundabout (about 500 m), carry straight on, taking the 1st exit onto Berkshire Way - A329 (signposted Bracknell, Ascot).
- At the Twin Bridges roundabout (another 500 m) turn right, taking the 3rd exit onto Mill Lane - A3095 (signposted Southern Industrial Area, Sandhurst). There are often traffic lights working on this roundabout.
- After around a mile, you will reach a roundabout. Carry on, taking the 2nd exit onto Mill Lane - A3095 (signposted Sandhurst).
- After half a mile, you will encounter another roundabout. Turn right, taking the 3rd exit onto Crowthorne Road - A3095 (signposted Crowthorne).
- After another mile or so, you will come to another roundabout. Carry straight on, taking the 2nd exit onto Foresters Way - A3095 (signposted Crowthorne, Sandhurst).
- After about 1/3 of a mile, you will come to another roundabout. Turn right, taking the 3rd exit onto Bracknell Road - B3348 (signposted Crowthorne).
- After another mile or so, you will come to a small roundabout. Continue straight over it into Crowthorne (2nd exit), remaining on the B3348.
